Mangystau region

It was formed on March 20, 1973 from the southern part of the Guriev region. In 1988, the region was abolished, restored in 1990 under the name of Mangystau. Mangystau region is an industrial region, it produces 25% of Kazakhstan's oil (almost 20 million tons), the Aktau-Zhetybay-Uzen oil pipeline passes. Mangystau region is a unique production complex, unique in Kazakhstan, autonomously provided by all types of energy and water produced at the Mangyshlak nuclear power plant (the Kazatomprom division). There are 559 industrial enterprises registered in the region, of which 70 are large and medium-sized. The raw orientation of the region's economy predetermined the priority of the mining industry, from the state of development of which all other sectors of the economy are directly dependent. The region occupies the third place in the republic in terms of the total volume of industrial production.

Description

The administrative center is the village of Beineu. The climate is continental. Average temperature Jan. -4 ° C, July 25-27 ° C. Precipitation is 120-130 mm per year. Sand storms are frequent. The main branch of the economy is the oil industry. In agriculture, the main direction is the breeding of sheep (karakul breeding), horses, camels. Description

Territory - 65.8 thousand km2. Ten settlements, two villages and four rural districts were glued to the area. The administrative center is the village of Kuryk. One of the features of the Karakіya region is the absence of fields and meadows. The land, suitable for agriculture, is 498.8 thousand hectares. The vast majority of land (about 80%) consists of pastures. In this regard, the region is mainly focused on cattle breeding. In addition, an oil and gas exploration expedition is working, a construction and assembly plant, a logistics base, a vehicle fleet, several communication departments, etc.

The district center is Shetpe village. The distance from Aktau to Shetpe is 159 km, the area is 47.9 thousand square meters. km. The climate is continental and dry. Winter is somewhat cold. Formed in 1964, it is located on the plateau of Mangyshlak (Mangystau). In the city there used to be a correctional labor institution, which was detained by the 3 rifle company of military unit 6656, where criminals from various regions of Kazakhstan served their sentence. In addition, the city has a separate radar company of the anti-aircraft brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan - military unit 51809-G and military unit 5548 opened in 2012 ensuring control over the public order of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is located on the site of the old airport. From the city the railway line North-South (Zhanaozen-Gyzylgaya-Bereket-Etrek (Turkmenistan) -Gorgan (Iran)) begins.
